Yesterday we stumbled across first person Mario Bros. but, even though we got that one in crappy yet amazing Anaglyph 3D, today’s find is much better… it’s playable! This is a bit difficult to explain, but I’ll do my best: In traditional Tetris, you sit stationary and flip around the Tetriminos to get them to fit into the larger pile without any gaps. In First Person Tetris, you are the Tetrimino, sitting stationary and flipping the environment around you to fit into a larger pile without any gaps.
It’s a bit gimmicky, but very well done. The throw back to the NES version of the Soviet Union’s most famous video game is spot on. The music is there, the colour is there, the TV and NES sit set up on the carpet as they probably were in millions of playrooms in the 80’s. There is even a lovely ol’ VHS Player with a pile of crappy ol’ VHS tapes on top of the TV. Check it out! Honestly, the soundtrack alone was enough for me, but I’m a bit of a simpleton.
