I’m scared of Robots. Unlike most people with such a fear, I’m not overly concerned with the potential of robotic artificial intelligence taking over the world. What scares me is when these mechanical beasts use their super-human strength and dexterity to do ridiculous and irrelevant tasks in totally insane ways. Not only do such tasks showcase the robots’ superior power, they also bring to light deep-seeded emotional issues and potential mental illness. For example, what kind of person spends hours dribbling a tennis ball at speeds so fast that the ball is barely visible? A crazy person, that’s who.
